Regularity results for nonlocal equations by approximation

We obtain C regularity estimates for nonlocal elliptic equations that are not necessarily translation invariant using compactness and perturbative methods and our previous regularity results for the translation invariant case.

Regularity and Bernstein-type results for nonlocal minimal surfaces

We prove that, in every dimension, Lipschitz nonlocal minimal surfaces are smooth. Also, we extend to the nonlocal setting a famous theorem of De Giorgi [5] stating that the validity of Bernstein’s theorem in dimension n + 1 is a consequence of the nonexistence of n-dimensional singular minimal cones in IR.

Classical , Nonlocal , and Fractional Diffusion Equations on Bounded Domains

The purpose of this paper is to compare the solutions of one-dimensional boundary value problems corresponding to classical, fractional and nonlocal diffusion on bounded domains. The latter two diffusions are viable alternatives for anomalous diffusion, when Fick’s first law is an inaccurate model. In the case of nonlocal diffusion, a generalization of Fick’s first law in terms of a nonlocal fl...

Analysis and Approximation of Nonlocal Diffusion Problems with Volume Constraints

We exploit a recently developed nonlocal vector calculus to provide a variational analysis for a general class of nonlocal diffusion problems given by a linear integral equation on bounded domains in R. The ubiquity of the nonlocal operator is illustrated by a number of applications ranging from continuum mechanics to graph theory. These applications elucidate different interpretations of the o...

Numerical fluid solutions for nonlocal electron transport in hot plasmas: Equivalent diffusion versus nonlocal source

Flux limitation and preheat are important processes in electron transport occurring in laser produced plasmas. The proper calculation of both of these has been a subject receiving much attention over the entire lifetime of the laser fusion project. Where nonlocal transport (instead of simple single flux limit) has been modeled, it has always been with what we denote the equivalent diffusion sol...
